Dear Benton Community,
On behalf of the Benton Area Elementary School, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your support and involvement in this year’s May Day celebration. Your presence, energy, and continued commitment to our students and school traditions made May Day 2025 a truly memorable event. Whether you contributed your time, talents, donations, or simply came out to cheer on our students, your involvement helped create a joyful and meaningful experience for our entire school family.
We would also like to thank you for your flexibility and understanding regarding the decision to hold this year’s program indoors. While we always hope for clear skies, your patience and support helped us make the most of the day, and your enthusiasm filled the gymnasium with the same spirit we cherish from our outdoor celebrations. Looking ahead, I'm excited to share that beginning next year, May Day will be held during the third week of May. This change will give us more flexibility to choose the best possible day based on weather forecasts—so we can hopefully return to holding the performance outside, where our students can shine in the sunshine!
A special thank you also goes out to our teachers, staff, volunteers, community partners, and families who dedicated countless hours to planning, preparing, and participating. Events like this remind us of what makes Benton so special. I'm grateful to those who showed interest in supporting our new playground project. Together, we can create a safe, fun, and inspiring space for our children to learn and grow. If you haven’t already, QR codes are available on our website and around the school for anyone still wishing to get involved.
Thank you once again for helping us celebrate tradition, showcase talent, and build community. We are proud to call Benton home and even prouder to share it with all of you.
Go Tigers,
Daniel Yarnell
Principal
Benton Area Elementary School

Due to May Day being moved indoors today, students will be dismissed at the regular dismissal time.

This is an important message regarding the upcoming May Day celebration on May 21, 2025.
Due to inclement weather, the event will now be held in the Elementary Gymnasium and will be limited to parents and guardians of students in Kindergarten, 6th grade, and 12th grade.
The program will begin promptly at 1:00 PM, and parking will open at 12:00 PM. All traffic must enter the school via Green Acres Road. There will not be an early dismissal due to moving the event indoors.
For those unable to attend, the event will be live streamed at https://www.youtube.com/@TheBentonBroadcast, and a recording will be available on the district website for you to enjoy with your family.
Information will be sent home with students about our basket raffle. We encourage you to participate as this fundraiser directly benefits our students.
Additionally, please visit our website for a QR code to support our playground donation drive.
Thank you for your continued support. Go Tigers!
Thank you for your continued support.
